MobileMuster's Local Government Awards were introduced in 2007 to recognise the outstanding efforts of local councils in promoting and collecting mobile phone components for recycling. Read our case studies on the award-winning programs and initiatives that councils have run to encourage the community to participate in the program.

Five awards are presented each year including:

  • Best Promoter: this award honours local initiatives that show creativity and innovation in promoting the MobileMuster program to the community.

  • Working with Schools: this award recognises the work undertaken by local government to encourage and support schools to learn about mobile phone recycling and participate in the MobileMuster Schools program.
  • Top Collector / Recycler: this award is based on the council who has collected the most mobile phone components for recycling between 1 May 2013 and 30 April 2014.
  • Top Collector / Recycler: this award is based on the council who has collected the most mobile phone components (per capita) for recycling between 1 May 2013 and 30 April 2014.
  • National Excellence Award: this award celebrates excellence in community engagement and participation in the MobileMuster program.
