25,000 More Trees!!!!!!!!Koaladoors Project - Warnambool

Thanks to the recycling efforts of thousands of Australians in May and June this year MobileMuster with the help of Landcare groups will be planting a further 25,000 native trees in Australia.  This year's trees will help protect hundreds of koala habitats in Victoria and restore precious Cumberland Woodlands in western Sydney.

MobileMuster received over 25,000 kg of mobile phones as part of the Old Phones, More Trees campaign, a joint initiative with Landcare Australia where for every kilogram of mobile phone components handed in for recycling between 1 May 2009 to World Environment Day on June 5, MobileMuster and Landcare Australia pledged to plant a native tree.

As a result more than 211,000 handsets and batteries and more than 18,700kg in accessories and associated plastics are no longer stashed away and cupboards and drawers but on there way to be turned into Plasmar fence posts, jewellery and stainless steel.

This will mean by the end of next year a total of 200,000 trees will have been planted as a result of the Old Phones More Trees campaign which started in June 2007.Koaladoors Group - Planting Trees, Warrnambool
