MobileMuster & Landcare Australia

21 May - 30 June 2007

Old phones, new trees” campaign was a MobileMuster initiative implemented in partnership with Landcare Australia. For every handset that was handed in between 21 May 2007 and 30 June 2007 MobileMuster planted a native tree. 75,000 handsets were collected during this period, resulting in 75,000 trees to be planted across Australia at the following locations. NEW SOUTH WALES
Manning Coastline (close to Taree) - 10,000 trees
Cumberland Plain Woodland (Penrith) - 10,000 trees
Murrumbidgee Catchment (close to Canberra and Wagga Wagga) - 10.000 trees
Liverpool Plains - 5,000 trees.

VICTORIA
Koaladoors Project  (Framlinghham Forest) - 10,000 trees|
Mentone to Carrum Coastal Strip - 10,000 trees

SOUTH AUSTRALIA
Goolwa to Wellington - 5,000 trees

QUEENSLAND
Innisfail - 10,000 trees

WEST AUSTRALIA
Mandurah - 5,000 trees

Thank you to all those people, mobile phone retailers, schools, businesses and local councils who supported the campaign by cleaning out their cupboards and drawers and handing in their old mobile phone handsets for recycling.
