Schools Recycling Challenge - Old phones, new fence posts

Helping the Bushfire Recovery Post by Post

A big thank you to all those schools who participated our Old phones, new fence posts Schools Recycling Challenge during May and June 2009. 

As a result of your efforts nearly all of the 720 Plasmar Fence Posts are now happliy in the ground on a number of properties in the Baw Baw Shire area with the remaining 20 or so on their way to Middle Kinglake Primary School.

Prizes and certificates have been allocated and distributed to all schools who qualified for these. Your school should have received a letter and any relevant prizes by 14 August 2009.  National and State School and Student Champions were announced publicly the week of 10 August (see release).

A big thank you also to Australian Composite Technology for donating the fence posts, Victorian Farmers Federation (Wal Lawson and Graham Deull) and Baw Baw Shire Council in coordinating the fencing, Brown's Transport and Trading for transporting the fence posts, Peter Andersen from Ando's Tractor Work for helping with the fencing and Mick Sutton and finally to Labertouche Primary School and their Principal Pat Alexander for hosting the launch of the challenge earlier this year.
