How to recycle

  2. Order a free Samsung MobileMuster recycling satchel. Complete the form below and we will post it to you. Package up your old mobile phones and accessories into the satchel. Drop off your satchel at a AustPost red box. It’s that easy!

Samsung | MobileMuster Tree Planting Initiative 2021

  1. Information on how to participate in the “Samsung MobileMuster Tree Planting Initiative” 2021 campaign (“the Campaign”) forms part of these terms and conditions. Participation in the Campaign is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
  2. The Promoter is the Australian Mobile Telecommunications Association (AMTA) ABN 98 065 814 315 of Level 8, 71 Walker St, North Sydney NSW 2060 (“AMTA”).
  3. The Collector is Samsung Electronics Australia Pty Ltd ABN 63 002 915 648 of 3 Murray Rose Avenue, Sydney Olympic Park, NSW 2127 (“Samsung”).
  4. Participation is open to residents of Australia, with an Australian mailing address (“the Participant”).
  5. All valid collections (as set out in Clause 6) of mobile phones regardless of brand received by the Collector and/or AMTA’s recycler between 1 May 2021and 31 May 2021 (“the Campaign Period”) will be eligible.
  6. To recycle mobile phone, participants must:

6.1. either drop off their mobile phone at a participating Samsung Experience Store (a full list of which is available at https://www.samsung.com/au/findastore/)

6.2. or alternatively post it in using a Samsung MobileMuster recycling satchel available at a participating Samsung Experience Store or upon request via www.mobilemuster.com.au/recycle-a-mobile.

  1. Any collections received after the Campaign Period will be ineligible to be counted, and, to the extent permitted by law, neither AMTA or the Collector will bear responsibility for lost, late or misdirected collections.
  2. Valid collections mobile phones and any accessories will be processed for recycling by AMTA’s recycler and included in the Campaign and reported in the overall weight collected during the Campaign.
  3. For every mobile phone collected during the Campaign Period, AMTA will provide funding of $5AUD per mobile received during the Campaign Period to Planet Ark’s National Tree Day Seed Bank program who will provide funding to community groups to facilitate tree planting. The maximum contribution is capped at $1000AUD, even if more than 200 phones are collected during the Campaign Period.
  4. The Promoter reserves the right to change or substitute the dollar contribution with something of equal value at its discretion, subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority. The Promoter is neither responsible nor liable for any change in the value of a dollar contribution occurring between the date of printing collateral including digital / online media and the end of the Campaign Period.
  5. To the extent permitted by law, the Participant indemnifies the Promoter and Collector against any liability, injury, loss or damage which may be suffered, incurred or sustained by the Promoter or Collector arising out of, relating to, or in any way connected with, any act or omission (including negligence) by the Promoter or Collector, or any breach of these Terms and Conditions.
  6. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter and Collector (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the campaign, including, but not limited to, where arising out of the following: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s or Collector’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any collection that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter or Collector) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter or Collector; (d) any variation in dollar contribution value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions.
  7. All collections of mobile phone components (including handset, their batteries, chargers and accessories) becomes the property of the Promoter, and cannot be returned to the Participant, regardless if the mobile phone component/s is/are received before, during or after the campaign period.
  8. In the event of war, terrorism, state of emergency or disaster, the Promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Campaign, subject to any written directions from a relevant regulatory authority.
