Film Competition

Calling all student film makers with a passion for the environment!

How do you encourage recycling?  We want school students around Australia to create a one minute film encouraging their community to recycle their old mobile phones. The theme for this years’ competition is Use it or recycle it.

There is a $15,000 technology prize pool up for grabs to be shared between the winners and their schools. Finalist representatives also win a trip to Sydney to participate in a industry experience day and competition screenings. The winning films will be showcased by our competition partner Planet Ark during National Recycling Week.

Entry is free and is open to all primary and secondary school students in Australia. We have partnered with Cool Australia to create six lessons for Years 3-8 designed that empower students to become community leaders for mobile phone recycling. These innovative lessons will help students enter the film competition and explore the importance of recycling.

Take a look at our Film Competition page for more details, requirements and teacher resources.
