MobileMuster presents our 2025 Annual Report

Mon 1 Dec 2025

MobileMuster is proud to present its 2025 Annual Report.

FY25 marked a year of steady progress and adaptation for MobileMuster as we continued to strengthen our role as Australia’s industry-led mobile phone recycling program. Our success remains grounded in consistent execution and strong industry collaboration, even as the recycling landscape evolves.

This year, we focused on reinforcing the operational foundations of the scheme while delivering strong performance across our key collection channels. Mobile phone retail locations – including Telstra, Optus, and Vodafone stores – continued to achieve solid results. These efforts were complemented by increased use of post-back options, which remain a vital channel for regional and remote communities.

Across the full program, collections reached 171 tonnes, reflecting the ongoing commitment of our members, collection partners, and retail network to make recycling simple and accessible. Notably:

  • Expanded Program products grew to 51 tonnes, up 51% year-on-year and ahead of plan.
  • Post-back volumes increased 24%, reaching 12.34 tonnes.

These achievements underscore the strength of our partnerships and the dedication to creating sustainable solutions for mobile technology.

In late 2024, MobileMuster was re-accredited by the Australian Government under the Recycling and Waste Reduction Act, reaffirming our position as Australia’s industry-led product stewardship program for mobile technology. Additionally, we lodged our FY25 Climate Active submission, maintaining our commitment to carbon-neutral operations, with recertification expected in early 2026.

The 2025 Impact Report celebrates these milestones and provides a detailed look at how we’re driving progress toward a circular economy for mobile technology. Thank you to our members, partners, and the community for making this possible.
