Recycle to win

Tue 2 Feb 2021

The national schools challenge by MobileMuster is encouraging students to recycle and compete to become Australia’s top collector.

The Schools Challenge is part of MobileMuster’s education program that aims to encourage young people to look at the impact of mobile technology and inspire them to act for a sustainable future. The challenge gives students an opportunity to put in practice their enthusiasm for recycling and sharing their environmental voice within the community.

Schools will share in $24,500 worth of prizes as part of the challenge. MobileMuster will award the top collector from each State, along with participation prizes to encourage all schools, big and small, to join in and have an opportunity to win. The collector awards will be given to the top three schools in each state and territory. Additionally, ten prizes will be allocated at random to any school who sends in at least one eligible collection during the competition period.

The competition is open to all preschool, primary, special and secondary schools in Australia. MobileMuster wants to make it easy and flexible for schools to participate and collect through the program. Teachers can order free MobileMuster collection boxes to set up at school or receive recycling satchels that can be sent home with students and posted back to MobileMuster through at any Australia Post box or post office.

As part of the Schools Challenge teachers can use MobileMuster’s award winning curriculum guides, school kits and digital library to support the challenge in the classroom.

“This initiative will help educate students and the wider community about the importance of recycling and doing good for the planet. We understand that learning about the importance and benefits of recycling is critical in encouraging the community to take action.” Spyro Kalos, Head of MobileMuster said.

The challenge starts in February 2021 and will close on 30 June 2021. Schools can register and order their collection boxes, schools kits and satchels through the MobileMuster website. Terms and conditions apply.
