Mobile Connections wins education award

The prestigious award recognised the currency, authenticity, innovative and cutting-edge production of the Mobile Connections program to support geographical education in Australian schools. Trish Douglas, Chairperson of Australian Geographical Teachers’ Association Board presented the award to MobileMuster at the 2019 Australian Geography Teachers’ Association conference.

“Mobile Connections takes a practical and different approach towards learning about interconnections in a real-life context. The resources are very user friendly and is supported by good pedagogical activities.”

Mobile Connections brings together a comprehensive curriculum with immersive digital resources and accredited teacher professional development, to foster critical thinking and enable students to make decisions and take actions that contribute to creating a sustainable world. The high school geography resource allows students to look at their personal connections to mobile technology and how it influences people’s choices and actions and the implications for society, the economy and the environment.

MobileMuster partnered with educational experts from the Field of Mars Environmental Education Centre to develop the Mobile Connections program. The curriculum guide has been reviewed by curriculum experts and key stakeholders ensuring it delivers quality teaching and student learning outcomes. Mobile Connections is a dynamic concept. The guide has been recently updated ensuring content, source materials and relevant issues are current and relevant.

The program fosters the responsible use of technology to extend the learning environment and encourages students to be advocates for environmental change within their school and community. As part of the program participating schools are supported to conduct a student lead recycling event for their community and communicate why product stewardship is important. The educational resources are free to use and MobileMuster provides ongoing support for schools and teachers nationwide.
