Student film competition 2022

MobileMuster Film Competition Winners 2022

MobileMuster is pleased to announce the winners of our 2022 Film Competition, which this year drew 60 entries from across the country, with students vying for the top prize in their category and of course, bragging rights.

The 2022 theme was ‘The Science of Recycling’ and our judges were delighted the level of creativity and passion for recycling. Films were judged on their relevance to the theme, creativity, technical skills, and ability to convey the environmental message.

It was a tight race to the finish, with 16 finalists across all categories vying for the top spot in MobileMuster’s 2022 Film Competition. It was no mean feat for our panel of judges but after careful consideration, we are pleased to announce the winners of this year’s competition.

We have updated the judging criteria for 2022! The criteria looks at:

  1. Relevance to the theme. How well does the film incorporate the theme the Science of Recycling.
  2. Creativity. How well does the film draw in the viewer and keep their attention?
  3. Technical Skills. What is the overall quality of production?

Education resources

We have partnered with Cool Australia to create six lessons for Years 3-8 designed to support teachers and students to produce quality films for the competition. Through these lessons students are given opportunities to apply their learning in real world situations, in the classroom, school, home or the local community.

We recommend the following sequence of lessons, depending on the year levels you are working with. You might also like to get technical with the Film-making Toolkit. Topics included in this toolkit cover copyright, storytelling, lighting, sound, film techniques and stop-motion animation.
